GSGA Member Club Benefits
The GSGA provides a variety of services to its Member Clubs that enhance the enjoyment of the game for all golfers in the state of Georgia.
Handicapping Services
The GSGA is proud to support the Golf Handicap Index Network System (GHIN). Currently there are nearly 300 GSGA Member Clubs and more than 90,000 individuals utilizing the GHIN System.
Course Measuring/Rating Program
The GSGA conducts educational seminars and can provide speakers on golf-related topics, including handicapping, course rating and the Rules of Golf. GSGA staff members are available to answer questions or provide support to Member Clubs in any area related to golf, including rules, handicapping and assistance in professionally conducting tournaments and championships.
GSGA Foundation
The GSGA Foundation provides educational opportunities that indirectly benefit GSGA Member Clubs and the golfing public through two scholarship programs.
Yates Scholarship Program: provides college funding to deserving GSGA Member Club employees and their dependents
Moncrief Scholarship Program: provides college funding to students in the field of agronomy and turf management at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), the University of Georgia (UGA), and students who work and live in Georgia, but attend an accredited program outside of the state
Golf Industry Support
The GSGA works closely with the Georgia Section PGA, Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association, and Georgia Chapter, Club Managers Association of America to ensure that golfers in Georgia continue to enjoy the very best of what the game offers. The GSGA supports the Georgia Turfgrass Foundation Trust with contributions to turfgrass research and contributions to the support of programs and services of the Georgia Section PGA.
