Georgia Mixed Team Championship
Sea Island Golf Club (Retreat & Seaside), St. Simons Island

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - The 2024 GSGA competitions season is officially underway after a great weekend in St. Simons for the Georgia Mixed Team Championship. The seventh annual event was played on the Retreat and Seaside courses at Sea Island Golf Club, February 3-4.

The duo of Matt Oxford of Rocky Face and Sydney Weaver of Columbus (pictured below) took home the trophy in the Gross Division with a total score of 10-under-par 132. Oxford and Weaver posted a 5-under-par 67 in round one on the Retreat course playing a modified alternate shot format. In the final round on the Seaside course playing four-ball stroke play, the tandem scored a 5-under-par 65, giving themselves a three-stroke victory.
In the Net Division, Robbie Paine and Bill Paine of Statham (pictured below) finished first with a total score of 5-under-par 137 (69-68).
The Georgia Mixed Team Championship was open to two-person teams of one male and one female amateur golfer. Both team members must be active members of the GSGA.
