On this day in 1999, Joe Inman Jr. claimed victory at the Pacific Bell Senior Classic, marking his second win on the PGA Tour Champions.
Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and a proud graduate of Wake Forest University, Inman’s love for golf took root early on. He enjoyed a successful two-decade career on the PGA Tour, where he won his first tournament in 1976. After joining the senior circuit, he found new momentum, winning the Pacific Bell Senior Classic back-to-back in 1998 and 1999. Inman went on to complete a rare three-peat by winning the same event again in 2000.
After his competitive days, Inman gave back to the game as a coach and mentor, ultimately serving as head coach and later director of golf for the men's golf team at Georgia State University. His dedication to Georgia golf was celebrated with his induction into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame in 2017
