Catie Craig of Sautee Nacoochee had the opportunity of a lifetime earlier this year when she received an invitation to compete in the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur, taking place from April 2-5.
Over the past two years, Craig has seen her game soar, jumping more than 2,000 spots in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, from outside the top 2,000 in early 2023 to 108th heading into her Augusta National Women's Amateur debut. In 2023, the Western Kentucky University senior claimed the Conference USA Individual Championship title and has continued to rack up wins, including the 2024 North & South Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2024 Cardinal Cup. She’s also had several top-five finishes both at the collegiate and national levels during that timeframe.
Recently, Craig joined Jeff Fages, GSGA's Senior Director of Rules and Competitions, to talk about her Augusta National Women’s Amateur invitation, how she’s preparing for the competition, and more. You can catch the full interview in the video above!
