ALPHARETTA – After three rounds,  McLain Leberte of Roswell and R.B. Clyburn of Cartersville are our 2024 Georgia Four-Ball Champions. The pair combined for 22-under (65-64-65) to win by two strokes at Echelon Golf Club in Alpharetta.

The pair entered the day two shots behind the 36-hole leaders Brooks Colquitt of Atlanta and Cole Isban of Marietta; four birdies and nine holes later, Leberte and Clyburn had a one stroke lead.  Colquitt answered back on hole 12, by driving the short par 4, then made an 18 foot putt for eagle to move his team back into a share of the lead. Clyburn and LeBerte returned the call with birdies on 13 and 17 to move them ahead by two strokes.  Colquitt and Isban finished even for the final six holes and were unable to overcome the deficit.  Clyburn and Leberte had 20 birdies and two eagles for the week to win the championship.

Keith Guest and Kyle Stiles of Athens finished in third place at 18-under. Brent and Kirk Whitehead of Atlanta finished in fourth place at 17-under. Rounding out the top five at 16-under were Mitch Kim of Cumming and Blair Scurlock of Roswell, Lee Bowman of Marietta and Shawn Higgins of Atlanta, and Sam Love of Burford and Nicolaus Poss of Lakemont.

Last year’s champions, Nate Gahman of Albany and Chase McLain of Leesburg bounced back from an opening round 70, with two 66’s, which vaulted them into a tie for eleventh. The pair combined for 17 birdies and an eagle.
