Junior Sectional Program Overview
The GSGA's purpose for junior golf in the state of Georgia is to provide a resource for and to promote the game for juniors across the state, thus giving juniors the opportunity to compete and enjoy competitive golf.

History: The Junior Sectional Program began back in the summer of 1974. That first summer the GSGA provided competitions for over 2,000 juniors. For several years the state was divided into eight sections, having at least four events in each secton. In 1998 it was decided that Atlanta would no longer be a section. Currently we have seven sections in the state of Georgia. Players compete for an accumulation of points to earn a berth to the state sectional challenge match. There are generally over 1600 participants statewide and a portion of them qualify for the Challenge Match.

Eligibility: The Junior Sectional Program is open to male and female juniors under 18 years of age. Entrants must not have reached their 18th birthday on or before the first Junior Sectional Program event. Entrants must be residents of Georgia and play at a GSGA Member Club. Players must participate in their zone of residence.
